Precious, precious children

Ok, So all people I spoke to today know that I did not get enough sleep and Cassie woke me up in the middle of the night. And as a result I was a grouchy bear today. Cassie was needing attention all the time and Marcus was biting me, and generally beating me up like only little babies can do! This all being my day meant I was so needing some alone time, which by the way i am currently sharing with miss cass on my lap since she cannot sleep, anyway I just finished watching Precious, and I have never felt so glad I love my kids, and realized how lucky I was to have such a loving family, a wonderful husband and also how happy I was in my life. There are people out there that have nothing, have no one that loves them for who they are and can see only good things ahead for them.

I am so grateful for my life, my children and am so filled with appreciation for everything I have had, and everything I have been given. Even the little creature kind of sleeping on my lap.

Cass sang skinnimerinky doo with me tonight and marcus said mama right before ha layed his head on my shoulder and fell asleep.

I love them, they are my heart.

Another Thursday

Well today Cassie had playschool which she is doing so well at. She almost won at musical chairs, and was the first one to yell out that people have 5 senses. Yeah Cassie.

Marcus today has almost mastered the art of throwing himself forward without smashing his face. He also got to have a bath with Cass tonight, and he was very excited, until she decided he needed to learn how to splash - I can see many water wars yet to come.

Blog Number 2

Here we are people, and I am blogging for the second day in a row. I also just got back from my run - yes you heard it here. i RAN. It was great except for the dangerous ice patches and my very beautiful lunging and arm windmilling to keep upright. Besides there were almost no cars around!

Today we went a played with Danika and Dawson. The girls really enjoyed the game of under the blanket, even Marcus and Dawson got into the action, and most importantly both of my munchkins slept all the way home. That being said we did have 1 hour of straight crying from both when we got home. Glad I savoured the quiet time.

A new me

Ok so all you people who keep saying I am bad at remembering to blog - and yes I know I am but this stems from years of journals I start and then never get back to, in fact I am sure in my basement I have at least 6 from years before kids and I had a wonderful plan to do a journal for cassie when I was first preggers - and I barly wrote after her 6 month birthday.

That being said I am going to put a concerted effort into writing more, if not for as long. Maybe the idea that a journal entry has to be longer then 250 words is what kills it. I have been inspired by 3 different things lately. Oh maybe 4. Well they are "Eat Prey Love" "The Happiness Project" and Julie and Julia - the movie.

In each of these items the women are looking for something - the elusive something. I too am looking for more, and as most of my friends can atest to I have been talking about and arond this for some time. I spend a ton of time wanting something more, and have yet been unable to define this thing, which makes it very hard to find. This just means that moving forward I am going to try a couple of things.

I am going to do my own happiness project. I am going to find a hobbyish thing to do, I am going to take up running (seriously) this time and I am going to focus on finding what the "thing" I keep looking for is.

Small items I know. I am also going to try and write a little about the kids everyday, so I can really remember these days, because some times all I can remember is how long it takes Marcus to sleep, or the fact that Cassie is often forgetting her listening ears.

Today Marcus fell asleep on my chest, something he does not do very often anymore. He also is trying very hard to scoot forward on his bum, and pull forward on what ever is infront of him. This ends with a lot of face plants but he is trying to move - keep posted for news here.

Cassie today was thrilled to get to rewad some of her recent library books. She really enjoyed the one with the big sister duck bossing the little baby duck. Sounds like our house. She is also really liking time with mom at the end of the day. Just cuddling in bed, before she falls asleep. This is new, and something different since she is not generally a cuddly girl. In fact the other day she grabbed my arm and pulled it under her chin as we layed in her bed. I love you Mom she said. My heart grew three sizes in that moment.

2011 A better blogging year

well like usual i am trying to blog with one hand while i hold the amazing no sleep baby. 2 naps in the car today for total 22 minutes and 45 minutes in the crib....add that to the night of from 1 to 7, getting up 5 times and i could be a member of the walking dead cast without makeup!

Other news that is fit to print...Marcus now has 5 teeth, three on the top and 2 on the bottom. He is sitting up without help and really getting into the backbend while on the floor. Last night Cassie and Marcus had their first bath! In the kid bathroom together. Lots of fun when the splashing started!

Cassie is now in playschool - she is going 2 times a week and really enjoying her time away from mommy and Marcus. She also likes getting to be miss independent with her friends and her teachers.

One of our best achomplishments of 2011 so far is the potty training. Cassie has done wonderful since boxing day when she gave up her suckie and also traded diapers for panties. What a change, all of a sudden I have a little lady, no baby left here.

She is talking up a storm, surprising me with her unlimited vocabulary every day. Soon she will be teaching me new words. Marcus is a joy. He laughs all the time and loves when his big sis plays with him, or even just plays in fromt of him.

We have our 6 month shots coming up and I am eager to see how much he weighs now.

Fingers crossed I will blog with a little more regularity. I will also add some photos once I track down the camera.
